Some news about volunteering with the WPA

PRC:

We are currently looking for students to volunteer in the PRC. This requires a one hour block of time per week (or more, if you wish) where you will work in the PRC on one or more tasks of your choice.

This year we hope to make the PRC more functional and useful for psychology students. I have planned a few things that I would like to do with the PRC which hopefully will accomplish this goal. As a PRC volunteer, you will be working on tasks to achieve this goal, and hopefully you will come up with ideas of your own to make the PRC more successful.

If you missed the WPA’s first general meeting, and would like to sign up to be a PRC volunteer, please e-mail me at klindahl[at]uwo[dot]ca.

If you have already signed up to be a PRC volunteer, I will be sending out an e-mail in the near future to set up a first meeting time (in which you will pick the hour you will work, and what tasks you would like to work on, etc.).

Volunteering Outside of Western:

A great deal of WPA members approached me after the first meeting requesting more information about volunteering outside of the WPA. I will start compiling a list of places (and contacts) within London that generally take volunteers. When completed, I will post the list on this website… so please check regularly!

Volunteer Committee:

This years WPA fundraiser will take place second term. We will be combining the formal and fundraiser this year, and will need lots of extra hands and brains to make it happen. We will start looking for volunteers for this fundraiser committee near the end of the term, so please keep an eye out for a recruiting e-mail around that time if you are interested!
